Sorry this took so long!

Hey everyone, So I've been pretty busy lately and am long overdue for an update. Last week I was at Manchester College in Indiana for the Amy Yoder Begley XC Camp. As many of you may know Amy just finished 3rd at the Olympic Trials and as such couldn't make it to her camp. Even in her absence, camp went on with out a hitch. The campers were broken up into teams named after olympic athletes that competed in a number of different events; kickball, basketball, volleyball, ultimate frisbee and the "Amy Yoder Begely Challenge." The "Amy Yoder Begely Challenge" was a combination of different events, some involving running and some involving other things, that eliminated the campers down to one boy and one girl. The campers had to start by lining up across from each other and doing pushup ladders until about half of the campers were eliminated. from their the remaining campers had to race a chocolate milk mile where the campers would drink a pint of chocolate milk and then run a 400 and repeat until they had completed a full mile. If a camper threw up they had to run an extra lap at the end of their mile, but they didn't have to drink an extra pint of milk. The top 5 finishers for both men and women then had to do planks until only one boy and one girl survived. To finish the games up the teams had to compete in a relay race that involved sit ups, pushups, soda chugging, crab walking and an all out 500m dash. All in all it was a great week of training and general competition with the kids getting in more work then they even realized. My next entry will chronicle my time at the Central Virginia Running Camp at UVA.
